Kanye West?

At first, I told everyone I idolized Kanye West as a joke. I thought it was funny because 80% of my school dresses in everything Kanye West does. However, as time went on, with stuff I learned from friends and books, I started to understand this guy more.

I suggest that 50% of you guys should stop reading this right now because I'm going to get REALLY technical and start preaching. So flip a coin, if it's heads, continue reading.

Check this video out. Pay careful attention to how he delivers his message, not just lyrics, but tone and body language.

Okay, let's talk about some stuff.

This song is a celebration of life. It's also the reason why so many people think he's cool.

He’s confident.
He’s got attitude.
He gets shit done.
He reaps the rewards.

These are all traits that appeals to others.
Everyone should incorporate this to their everyday lives.

But you can't just say "I'm confident, I have attitude.” You have to OWN it.

It's all about owning whatever it is that you are.
Own your wants, desires, style, and life!

There are so many people who genuinely have cool shit to share. These are the real cool people. But they don't realize it, or maybe they realize it and are afraid to show it. So they walk around with their shoulders down and head slumped forward.

So who determines if you're cool?

YOU DO

Kanye West decided a long time ago that he was the shit. He owned it.
He doesn't ASK anyone if he's cool, he just KNOWS he's cool and he tells the whole world.

But notice he isn't an asshole about it. He celebrates it. He gives everyone love. He invites you into his life. "Welcome to the good life..." Everyone wants a piece.

So if you want to succeed in life, don't PRETEND like you're a successful person, OWN it. Represent who you really are. These people are definitely cool, but because they decide to hide and pretend to be someone else, no one notices them.

Everyday, pursue what you want. Don't let someone else tell you want to do with your life. Walk with an extra bounce in your step, and talk with an over-confident tone. When you own this, people will start noticing, and good shit will happen.

Unfortunately, there are always going to be people against you. They just won't like the way you are.

Well as Kanye says "if they hate then let 'em hate and watch the money pile up"

So listen.

For everyone that's reading this. Add to your New Years Resolution: Go out there and get things done.

Turn ordinary nights where “nothing is going on” into nights to remember.

Decide what you want and get it.

Decide that you are the baddest motherfucker - believe it 100% and go from there.

Celebrate your life.

Because if you don’t - no one else will.

But when you do everyone else joins in.

And I promise you…

You’ll live the good life.

That's a hit

What is more important when determining whether a song is a "hit" or not? Does the lyrics matter or the beat? That's a tough question to answer, but here are my thoughts. When I tune in on the popular stations such as Wild 94.9 or 106.1 KMEL, I hear many songs that they consider "hits" The majority of these songs have a pretty damn good beat, but have the WORST lyrics, EVER. But, it's still a "hit".

I don't consider these songs "hits" in my book, they won't last. Would you really listen to songs like "Crank Dat Soldier Boy" and "Ay Bay Bay" five years from now and say, "That's my song!" Probably not, a song with a great beat can make it's way to the charts but without meaningful lyrics, the track is incomplete. Now just because a song has a good beat, it doesn't necessarily mean that it will top the charts.

Bottom line is that lyrics matter. You can listen to songs by Jason Mraz and when others hear it, it will be as if the song came out last week. This is just my opinion, lyrics matter. A great example of this is Dumb It Down by Lupe Fiasco. It has one of the simplest beats in history but has the sickest lyrics I have ever heard. Later.

It doesn't matter what the person is wearing...

So I was asking this girl what I should wear in order to impress people. It wasn't a big conversation but one thing there was one thing I remember.

"It doesn't matter what the person is wearing, it's about the way they present themselves."

No way.
The way a person dress IS part of presentation. I speak from personal experience but I'm sure all of you feel the exact same way. I'm generally nicer to people who look "good" and I'm usually more short-tempered to people who look "bad".

Now, whether a person looks ugly or not is not in there control. They are born the way they are and they're stuck with it, but one thing they can control is the clothes they wear. This was the basis of the conversation.

When a person goes to an interview, they don't wear baggy sweatpants and a ridiculously big tee shirt that was obviously not made for him/her. At the same time, a person will not wear a 800 tux to school everyday. The reason why a person might dress according to the situation is because they want to be attractive, whether it is to an interviewer or teachers. Making a good first impression is vital in all situations.

So my goal is to make an attractive first impression to people I meet, preferably girls ;]

She didn't really give me any tips on what to wear besides preppy stuff. When I heard preppy stuff, I thought of Lacoste polos. These things are ridiculous. I'm not sure how much they are worth nowadays, but a couple years back, they go for $100 a piece. A polo with an alligator logo =O . That's basically just something that tells the world that they make a lot of money.

Is that really what girls are attracted to? Money?
